Palomar Mountain Overview Loop

Time: 9:00AM Meeting place: The Macaroni Grill - Westfield North County Fair Mall in Escondido (Rt 15 & Via Rancho Pkwy) and we will carpool from there. If you plan on meeting us at Palomar, figure it will take us an hour to get up to the park from the mall. We will be parking the cars in the Doane Pond parking lot. Please let us know if you will be driving up on your own. This is a moderate hike (4 miles) through a variety of beautiful mountain landscapes, thick forests and abundent wildlife. Some hills involved and the elevation can make you a bit winded. Please be sure to wear your hiking shoes. Approximate hiking time should be about 2 hours. May be a bit more if we stop to enjoy the scenery. Bring snacks to hold you over as well as water to keep you hydrated. We plan on stopping off at Mother's for a relaxing lunch on the way back. This is an informal vegetarian restaurant where all the bikers and hikers hang out. Looking forward to seeing you all!
